Simplified Chinese translation for po4a
by hottea
hi,
dear all.
I'm not sure if I have join this mail list. I don't know how to join as there isn't a how-to on the website. I hope you can receive my email.
I found po4a when doing some translation, and found that there's not a complete Simplified Chinese translation for po4a, so I do the work. I create a project on transifex, a localization platform, see www.transifex.com/projects/p/po4a-translation. I wonder how could I see the final result? Where are the translation installed?
If you're interested in the Simplified Chinese translation for po4a, please join the language team on transifex.com, you can also request language on transifex.

My initial patch handles only '\t' as column separator, while man-db package uses '@'. I am working on a fix for this.
However man-db package uses its own Manext.pm module which implements handling of textblocks in its own way, and I am afraid that this man-db's module will need to be changed as well.

I can confirm it on gentoo. And that the bug was introduced with the release.

before filing a bug report...
by Marco Ciampa
It seems that the asciidoc filter of po4a does not "understand" include::
macros.
That would be a veeery nice addition and will put po4a + asciidoc on-par
with sphinx that handle translation of included file perfecty well....
(a little antagonism is well put here... ;-)
With multi-chapters documents you have to create apposite scripts to
handle this, see this ugly hack for instance:
https://github.com/ciampix/kicad-doc/blob/master/src/Makefile#L107
My humble opinion is that this is a bug.
May I file a bug report?

If someone wants to do so, I'd be happy to give the relevant rights so
that it gets done. My personal feeling is that very few people would
learn about the release this way, so I am not a volunteer for that.
But please people, be my guest. This project needs your love ;)
Bye, Mt.

po4a 0.46 just released
by Martin Quinson
Hello guys,
after almost 2 years, I just released a new version of po4a. That
version does not come with a huge load of changes (I just integrated
some of the available patches on the Debian bug tracker), but that's
still a very good news: I managed to get into the situation where I
can upload versions of that software again! I think that more releases
will flow in now that my setup is fixed.
That being said, I don't expect much free time to hack on po4a so I'll
mainly do the basic maintainance. That's already much more than what I
did in the recent years (my last upstream release was almost 10 years
ago!)
Feel free to write patches, and I'll integrate them ;)
Bye, Mt.

Finding the code, debian and web repositories
by Martin Quinson
Hello Helge,
Ccing the po4a mailing list. I hope you don't mind. CCing lists is
usually a rude move but I was thinking that these information could be
of general interest, with nothing personal. I hope I'm right.

Thanks for your support. I did not do much recently, and I cannot
really promise to do more than commiting the received patches in a
foreseeable future. But with the help of the community, we can still
move forward!

We are in the process of spliting the debian part from the upstream
part, and I had a typo in the VCS link that appear on the QA page, sorry.
Get the web repository:
svn checkout svn+ssh://YOUR_ID@scm.alioth.debian.org/svn/po4a/web
Get the source code:
svn checkout svn+ssh://YOUR_ID@scm.alioth.debian.org/svn/po4a/trunk
Get the debian package:
git clone git+ssh://git.debian.org/git/collab-maint/po4a.git
Browse the debian package (notice the cgit instead of git):
https://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab-maint/po4a.git
I will try to apply soon the following howto so that the code moves to
a git repo on alioth. I will announce on the list when done.
https://wiki.debian.org/Alioth/Git#Convert_a_SVN_Alioth_repository_to_Git
Thanks for your interest,
Mt
