Preparation of the next 0.25 release

Hello,
I intend to release po4a during this week (let say on Tuesday).
Here are the current status of the translations:

af: 22 translated messages, 8 fuzzy translations, 118 untranslated messages.
ar: 1 translated message, 147 untranslated messages.
ca: 123 translated messages, 8 fuzzy translations, 17 untranslated messages.
de: 52 translated messages, 16 fuzzy translations, 80 untranslated messages.
cs: 11 translated messages, 13 fuzzy translations, 124 untranslated messages.
eo: 24 translated messages, 1 fuzzy translation, 123 untranslated messages.
es: 118 translated messages, 11 fuzzy translations, 19 untranslated messages.
eu: 11 translated messages, 1 fuzzy translation, 136 untranslated messages.
fr: 147 translated messages, 1 untranslated message.

If you intend to update a translation but won't have time before Tuesday,
just post a mail (we can delay the release or plan a dot release).
The major changes for this release are:
* bug fixes
* new gettextize algorithm
* support for mdoc
* beginning of the support for placeholders in XML
* new script: po4aman-display-po

Status of the Man module

Hello,
Here is the status of the Man module.

There are no more ignored pages (I used -o generated).
Basically, except from the IGN line, it is nice when a page is going to the
left in this table. The WDIFF column is the one we want to avoid (po4a
process the page without warning, but the normalized page is diffrent from
the original page).
The generated pages do not lower the stats of the man module.
(Moreover, they permitted to detect some issues and to fix some of the
WDIFF of po4a 0.25)

I've tested it with an old test I had on my hard disk for another issue, and it still show wrong references. (I attach those files)
Sometimes those references point to another file, and sometimes there's no reference.

If you translate a PO file into some language
using iso8859-1, but forget to precise the charset in the
header of the PO file, and don't give the charset to
po4a-update either, then po4a-update proceeds to remove all
accentuated characters from the file.
I am not sure what the best way to handle this would be;
presumably, one could do some heuristic ("there are many
strange characters in there, probably this isn't ascii") and
ask for confirmation that you do actually want to filter out
strange characters. Fact is, most of the time you won't want
to.

A related problem: when the master document's charset is not
ascii, po4a-updatepo seems to happily ignore the PO's
charset specification and change it (to UTF-8 in my case,
which I am not sure where it comes from, as I think the
input document was iso-8859-1 just like the PO), along with
all the characters in the PO. In other words, po4a-update
silently:
- changes the charset I have specified in the PO
- changes all the non-ascii characters in some way
("in some way", because I don't think it ended up in UTF-8
either).
I'm so in love with French accents right now.

Summary: po4a-update eats characters not in charset without asking
Initial Comment:
If you translate a PO file into some language
using iso8859-1, but forget to precise the charset in the
header of the PO file, and don't give the charset to
po4a-update either, then po4a-update proceeds to remove all
accentuated characters from the file.
I am not sure what the best way to handle this would be;
presumably, one could do some heuristic ("there are many
strange characters in there, probably this isn't ascii") and
ask for confirmation that you do actually want to filter out
strange characters. Fact is, most of the time you won't want
to.

A related problem: when the master document's charset is not
ascii, po4a-updatepo seems to happily ignore the PO's
charset specification and change it (to UTF-8 in my case,
which I am not sure where it comes from, as I think the
input document was iso-8859-1 just like the PO), along with
all the characters in the PO. In other words, po4a-update
silently:
- changes the charset I have specified in the PO
- changes all the non-ascii characters in some way
("in some way", because I don't think it ended up in UTF-8
either).
I'm so in love with French accents right now.
