Specify the documentation character set. It isn't ascii anymore since the
addition of Nicolas François to the Man.pm Authors ('ç' isn't ascii).
I didn't see any better solution here. The authors' names are part of the
documentation, and it makes the whole documentation non-ascii. Any
suggestion?
Now the documentation po files are in utf-8, and the translated pod
files
(and also the derivated man pages and html pages) are also in utf-8.
I think this is a bug. It's the same that happened some time ago when we
had the italian translation in utf-8, but now we can't fall back.
The solution would be to add a "-L, --localized-charset" option to
po4a-translate (and some equivalent for the po4a script), to force the
conversion of the translated document to the specified charset (so that
the generated po4a documentation could come back to iso8859-1, for
example).
Currently I don't have many time available to spend with po4a :( In
february I'll have some vacation weeks, so I'll be back to full activity,
but maybe it's so far in time. This issue should be solved before a new
po4a release. If you plan to make a new release soon, please announce it
as soon as posible, so I can try to solve it.
